Our investigations generally involve making factual findings including credibility findings when necessary; and assessing complaints against institutional or employment policies, statutes, by-laws, professional competency requirements, and ethics codes.
Our firm is independent by design: we understand conflicts and know our boundaries. Should legal, HR or follow up training be identified in connection with the subject matter of our investigations, we refer institutions and employers elsewhere for advice.
Investigation Support and Training for Institutions and Tribunals
We are also available to provide advice and support to other entities—be it internal workplace investigators or statutorily established investigation committees—on a range of investigation matters. This may include assisting with investigation planning, complex procedural matters, or report preparation.
We also offer presentations and training on various aspects of the investigation process. Topics include:
- Implementing your respectful workplace policy;
- Planning your investigation;
- Evidentiary considerations in investigations;
- Principles of procedural fairness;
- Writing your investigation report.
